This is our first time having to record an episode after a Ravens loss, what a fortunate thing to say 13 episodes in! Unfortunately our team did lose to the Kansas City Chiefs, but we learned a lot from the game and had many points to discuss.
The Ravens won their home opener to a sold out M&T Bank Stadium with Corespondent KFish and Listener Nick at the game with Alec. With Chris on his honeymoon, we had KFish fill in. Apologies that the audio quality isn’t up to our typical standards this week!
Wow, what a game! After a dominating day by the Ravens, the ReCAP crew were excited to chat with one another. We shared our take aways about the game and our prediction for the home opener against the Cardinals.
Now that cuts have been made and the roster has trimmed down to 53 men, the Ravens are ready to take on their first opponent, the Dolphins in Miami. After we discuss the 5th preseason game, we go on to predict our statistical leaders on the Ravens as well as the playoff picture.
The Ravens went on to win their 16th consecutive preseason game against the Eagles. In a surprising move not to start most starters in what is typically seen as the dress rehersal, the ReCAP crew decided to weave their takeaways from the game into a discussion about the 53 man roster that has to be decided by Saturday at 4pm. The show ends discussing other NFL news, mostly surrounding the hilarious Antonio Brown situation.
Though the crew wasn’t at this preseason game, we were able to sit down during the second half of the game and discuss our takes one the second preseason game.
Though we didn’t record after the game was totally over, we did want to point out that we heard the disheartening news about Tavon Young. Second season ending injury for the young star. We wish him a speedy recovery.
After chatting and speculating this offseason, the ReCAP crew was able to sink their teeth into some game film after a 29 to 0 win over Jacksonville, their 14th consecutive preseason win. Fortunately, we were at the game (thanks Listener Rob!) and we were able to sprinkle some live takes along with our post game analysis.
For our last episode before our game by game analysis, the ReCAP crew discusses Ravens Rivalries. We go over our long standing rivals, some rivals of the past, and make some guesses who will be our rivals in the years to come as we enter the next chapter for the team. Join in on the discussion on this week’s Reddit post.
For our penultimate show before the preseason begins, we discussed our list of underrated Ravens, from the team’s stars to players we think stepped up in crucial spots. After we reminisce, we discuss which current players might be on the list when we revisit the topic down the line.
Next week we’ll discuss Ravens rivalries past and present. Make sure to send in your favorite rivalry memories to firstname.lastname@example.org.
This week we discuss John Harbaugh. It wasn’t totally clear that he’d remain the Ravens head coach during the entire 2018 season. We discuss the pros and cons of keeping Harbaugh around and if we think he is the right person to lead the Ravens during this team transition. After that discussion we pick up on listener Nick’s suggested article about Sam Koch.
The next episode will be about our favorite underrated Ravens. We’d love to hear who your favorite underrated Ravens are! You can either email us at email@example.com or leave a comment on this post.
